Music and Worship Ministry Opportunities

Our Philosophy of Music in Worship...

Worship is active.  It is expressions of the heart directed toward God that take many forms.  Thankfulness, praise, gratitude, prayer, even struggle and grieving can all take place as forms of worship.  Music helps to facilitate worship in the church and at Harvest Chapel we love to sing.  Our instrumental and vocal worship leaders strive to play and sing with excellence, yet not to bring attention to our selves, but to God Almighty.  We believe that worship is far different from mere entertainment.  Entertainment purposes to exalt the performer and entertain the audience.  Worship purposes to exalt God and inspire all of us involved (both leaders and congregation) to worship God with full and open hearts.  With that in mind, our worship leaders' primary responsibility is to guide the congregation into the experience of worship, much like a butler exists to usher guests into the presence of the party.

About Style

Churches are all different in their style of worship.  We believe God gives us limitless options in regards to style which can help us make our worship personally meaningful.  Harvest Chapel utilizes a worship band consisting of instruments like guitars, keyboard, piano, bass, drums, and saxophone.  The songs we sing contain lyrics with a heart for worship while packaged in a framework of a more modern instrumental context.

Seasonal Opportunities

Our choir presents two musical events each year for Christmas and Easter.  These musicals are just one way our worship ministry reaches out to the community around us.  Rehearsals for the Annual Christmas Musical begin in mid-September and for Easter begin each January.  Anyone interesed in participating in these seasonal events can sign up seasonally.

Sound and Tech Opportunities

During worship services, our tech needs are met by our tech team.  This talented, trained group of people handle all audio and visual needs for the Sunday Services.  If you are interested in this ministry, you can contact Jeremy Miller, our head of tech ministries.
