Children's Ministry Opportunities at Harvest ChapelSummer will be here before we know it and that means the start of our summer children’s program, “Parable Quest.” This is a ten week adventure camp combining the fun and excitement of the rainforest with the discovery of what it means to follow Jesus on a life-changing adventure. “Parable Quest” will introduce children ages 4 through those entering 5th grade to ten of the parables that Jesus told. Through these parables children will build a growing relationship with Jesus and discover how God’s Word can make a difference in their lives every day. The everyday objects and real-life situations that Jesus described in His parables help children understand the principles of the Bible. Each lesson of “Parable Quest” will present children with a life changing Bible command reflected in the parable Jesus told. While some children may be familiar with the story action of the parables, they will benefit from the focus on truths of spiritual and eternal value demonstrated in each parable. For example, as children hear the truth of the Parable of the Lost Coin, they will gain a perspective on the rejoicing in heaven when they become part of God’s family. In this way, this ten week adventure is designed to not only give preschool and elementary aged children a knowledge of God’s Word, but also the opportunity to respond to his truth by living out their Christian faith every day. “Parable Quest” In the Community CenterSunday mornings at 10:00 amJune 27th through August 29th We hope that your child will join us and be inspired to a deeper and richer knowledge of God’s Word, and also greater understanding of living as a follower of Jesus everyday!
We are glad to welcome you to the Children’s Ministry of Harvest Chapel. This information is designed to help familiarize you with our ministry “with” children. We say ministry with children because we believe that we learn and grow with children as we teach and care for them; helping them to grow in their relationship with Christ.
The age group focus for Children’s Ministry is from birth through fifth grade. Our goal is to help children discover Jesus in a personal way. We believe that children are a gift from God and with that in mind, our staff interacts with them in loving and caring ways. Because every child is so important to us and to the kingdom of God, we make every effort to provide a safe, positive, nurturing environment: An environment in which children can grow and receive training to equip them to serve Christ and others. It is our prayer and desire that the care and training children receive here will be taken with them throughout their lives.
Christian Education: Our Sunday school classes provide a structured time of learning in which children come to know, grow and follow Jesus through the use of age appropriate Christian education curriculum. Classes are held on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM mid September through mid June.
Nursery and Pre-school care is available, for children ages 4 and under, in the Journey Junction C.E. wing for each service.
The location of Christian Education classes is the Community Center and Journey Junction C.E. wing for ages 3 and grades Pre K – 5 during the 10:00 AM service. Signs are clearly posted outside the classroom doors. You may also download a full floorplan of the facility by clicking here.
Each Summer children are invited to participate in a special ten-week program just for them. The summer of 2009 features a program entitled “Son Rock Kids Camp”. This is an adventure camp for children ages 4 through those entering 5th grade. Through exciting Bible stories, that tell of the life of the apostle Paul, our Harvest children will experience the fun and excitement of an outdoor camp as they discover who Christ is and the promise of His love and provision for us. In the end we want our children to be Rock-Solid Followers as they come to understand that Jesus is the true and only source for the things that matter in our life. “Son Rock Kids Camp” is held in the Community Center each Sunday at 10:00 AM from June 24th – August 8th.
