Women’s Ministry of Harvest Chapel

Our Purpose

The Women’s Ministry of Harvest Chapel exists to provide spiritual enrichment and Christ-centered community to women of all ages. We do that by serving God and one another.

Opportunities for Women

WOW~ Women of the Word
1st Saturday of every month
October through June 8:30 am to 10:00 am
8:30-8:45 am Food & Chit-chat9:00-10:00 am Bible Exploration and Discussion Groups

WOW is an interactive gathering just for women. Each month is a stand-alone exploration of a Biblical theme or topic, followed by small and large group discussion. This is an ideal way to meet other women and develop personal connections. A "come-as-you-are, no-mess, no-fuss" time of Bible exploration, discussion and friendship building.  Light breakfast foods and a few “goodies” and beverages are available buffet style.

BENEFITS:

  • You don’t have to cook!
  • No pressure to look good....sweats or pj’s are fine
  • Explore the Word with others trying to figure stuff out!
  • Woman talk...no one tells you what to feel or do!

Do you need a night away from your daily routines and wish for a time of renewal in God's Word?

"Girlfriends God's Way" was created with you in mind! If you hunger for meaningful connections and want to know how to live God’s Word as a woman in your home, church family and at work, you found the right fit.

Girlfriends gather together weekly on Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m.. This group meets on a semester-based cycle: Fall, Winter, Spring and a few Summer Tuesdays. Our fall kickoff will be September 29th.

After a day full of activity at home or the workplace, Girlfriends provides a respite in the evening for you to catch your breath.  With our Bibles open we have discussions that impact our lives so we can carry it back to our families and friends.  Along with that is plenty of laughter and great coffee, tea and treats.

Girlfriends also seeks to make a difference in our world by joining together in various mission projects especially focused on women. Girlfriends has donated clothing, hygiene supplies and other supplies to women’s shelters and other women in need.

If you’d like to know more, Kay Gould, the Coordinator of this ministry, would be happy to share more about what happens in the life of Girlfriends God’s Way. You can reach her at 679-7500.

MOPS Mothers Of PreSchoolers

MOPS is the abbreviation for Mothers of Pre-Schoolers.

Twice a month, moms meet to share common understanding and support for one another.  While the babies and children are lovingly cared for by a host of volunteer grandmas, grandpas and friends, moms are enjoying every minute of their morning actually talking to other adults!  The two-hour MOPS program features a speaker who presents a brief talk on a topic of interest to women.  Then in a small group, we discuss ideas presented as well as our own perspectives on the topic. The atmosphere is lively, the talk is stimulating and the emotional climate is warm and accepting.

In former generations, the extended family played a major role in the lives of many young mothers.  They shared recipes, parenting tips and baby-sitting favors. Today, a MOPS group provides Mentors. Mentors are women who have “been there”. MOPS mentors are willing to share their lives, friendship and listening ears to young moms. Today, women at home still have needs for understanding, encouragement and significant friendships.  There are, however, few opportunities for these needs to be filled.  MOPS fills that gap and provides moms with a place to refuel for the blessed but challenging job of parenting.

MOPS is a branch of MOPS International, a non-denominational Christian ministry with over 100 chapters worldwide.  The Fredonia Chapter meets the first and third Tuesday of each month from 9:30-11:30 a.m.. For more info, call Harvest Chapel at 716-679-0987.

What Does MOPS Cost?

There are expenses that are associated with MOPS.  Some of these include postage, supplies, MOPPETT snacks and crafts, gifts and refreshments.  We ask each mom to contribute $3.00 per meeting to help cover these expenses.  We strive to keep the cost to a minimum per meeting.  However, if at any time finances would prevent you from attending, scholarships are available.
